Movement model 88

Fine old open-face pocket watch from the Waltham Company.

Serial number on the movement is 4777973, this dates the watch as being manufactured between 05/01/1891 to 07/31/1891.
Watch is size 16, 11 jewel, grade 22 unadjusted standard quality.
Balance is Ex, Breguet spring.

When wound and given a slight shake, the movement functions and the watch appears to keep time.

Outside of the case on the back is engraved JHD.
Inside the back of the outer case it is marked:
C.W.C.CO.
TRADEMARK (with a crescent moon and a star between the words Trade and Mark)

Inside back case is engraved:
TO HERB FROM DAD AUG. 22nd 1925

The face of the watch is white with Roman numerals and a recessed second hand dial at the six o'clock position.
Face is marked A.W.Co WALTHAM
Below the Roman numerals the face is marked 13-24.
There is a crack in the face that extends from the eight to the the twelve position.
The crystal has several fine scratches and some of the plating has worn off the side of the case.

Previously owned, this watch would make a fine addition to any collection.
